A woman was rescued from a burning trailer home in Redwood City Sunday night thanks to alert neighbors and brave first responders, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
At about 10:20 p.m., three deputies responded to a report of an explosion inside a trailer home in thee 3400 block of East Bayshore Rd. When they arrived, flames were roaring out of several blown out trailer windows, the sheriff’s office said.
Members of a large crowd gathered at the scene yelled that a woman in her 50’s might be inside. Two deputies entered the burning trailer and found the woman unresponsive. They pulled her to safety, where medical personnel began life saving treatment.
“We’re happy to report she’s on the mend from non-life-threatening injuries,” the sheriff’s office said.
The deputies who rescued her were also taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and a minor cut, the sheriff’s office said.
The Redwood City Fire Department were set to determine the cause of the fire.
