A 19-year-old man was fatally shot on S. El Camino Real in San Mateo early Sunday, police said.
At 3:30 a.m., police responded to the 300 block of S. El Camino Real in the area of W. 4th Avenue on a report of a shooting and located the victim. Officers rendered first aid for the victim, who was transported to a local trauma center. The victim succumbed to his injuries, police said. His identity wasn’t immediately known.
“SMPD has launched an intensive investigation and are working vigorously to bring all responsible parties to justice,” police said.
