The NFL Alumni Association has launched its 28th Northern California Caring for Kids/Black History toy drive. The donations will be distributed to Toys for Tots and other organizations throughout Redwood City. Many former players attended a grand opening which included a short concert by the legendary Motown band, The Drifters. The next day the Headturners Car Club from Morgan Hill arrived in 15 cars to deliver toys. Alumni Board member Carolyn Hoskins not only organized the event but decorated the 75 trees on display. The event was held in the former Pier 39 store located at the corner of Jefferson and Middlefield.
The doors are open for accepting donations through Dec. 15.
