San Mateo County Libraries to expand hours starting March 6

San Mateo County Libraries announced it will expand evening and weekend hours starting Sunday, March 6, with a return to 7-day-a-week service at most locations.

Starting that day, hours will run Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at these locations: BelmontBrisbaneEast Palo AltoFoster CityHalf Moon BayMillbraePacifica Sharp ParkSan CarlosWoodsideNorth Fair Oaks and Atherton when the new library is complete.

The Pacifica Sanchez Library will open Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Portola Valley Library will open Monday through Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“This is an exciting next step for our Libraries to bring even more transformative experiences and boundless opportunities to those we serve in the County,” said Library JPA Governing Board Chair and Millbrae Councilmember Reuben Holober. “Our libraries have provided exceptional resources and unwavering support during these challenging times, and I look forward to seeing the innovative, community-centered impact they will bring to 2022.”

Library staff will also continue to offer virtual programs while building upon the return of more in-person programming and community outreach opportunities.
