Captain Mark Myers has been appointed as the Chief of Police for the City of San Carlos, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Myers has served in San Mateo County for 22 years, and has been an integral part of the Sheriff’s Office’s San Carlos Police Bureau since its inception in 2010, when the city selected the Sheriff’s Office for its police services. He was among the very first deputy sheriffs assigned as a patrol deputy in the city. He’s served in various crucial roles, from patrol and corrections to being a field training officer, a member of the Crime Suppression Unit, and SWAT. He brings experience, expertise and a deep understanding of the community’s needs, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“I am truly thrilled to embark on this new journey as the Police Chief of San Carlos. As a resident of San Mateo County, the opportunity to serve in this role fills me with a deep sense of purpose,” Myers said. “I am honored to have been entrusted with this responsibility and am committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and community
engagement.

Sheriff Christina Corpus congratulated Myers on his “exceptional work and well-deserved appointment.”

“Throughout his tenure, Captain Myers has consistently demonstrated unwavering dedication, outstanding leadership, and a deep commitment to public safety,” the sheriff said.
