A 15-year-old boy suffered from a self-inflicted, accidental gunshot wound to his upper leg and a 14-year-old boy suffered from a stab wound in downtown Redwood City Saturday night, police said.

Police responded to an area near 750 Marshall Street at about 8:10 p.m. and found the juveniles with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The 15-year-old apparently suffered a gunshot wound when the gun in his waistband accidentally discharged, police said. The firearm involved was not recovered and believed to have been taken from the scene by an associate of the juvenile, who hasn’t yet been identified, police said. A 9mm casing was recovered.

Another 14-year-old male was found to have a minor stab wound to his upper back area.

The incidents are currently being investigated separately but detectives are looking into possible connections.
