A journey’s end leads to new beginnings… Climate is back!

Climate Magazine is now online and will resume print publication in January 2018!  The dynamic new online presence will provide daily news and community stories to complement the award winning, high-quality monthly print magazine.

Begun two years ago by Eric and Lori Lochtefeld, the Redwood City-based magazine ceased publication in September but is coming back under a new publisher, SF Bay Media Group. Climate will be produced by the same award-winning editorial staff and contributors, with the same attractive look and commitment to quality journalism for which the magazine is known.

“When Climate announced its shuttering in September, we decided that it was too important to Redwood City to let go.  We began exploring ways to keep the operation running and started SF Bay Media Group to facilitate that,” said Adam Alberti, Publisher. “We are thrilled to be able to continue what Eric and the staff have built and we’re excited about the addition of a digital presence to extend our reach.”

Creative Director Jim Kirkland and Editor Janet McGovern will again produce and manage the editorial content for the magazine, from in-depth exploration of important local issues to profiles about the people whose lives enrich our community. Emily Mangini’s food column and Jim Clifford’s monthly ventures into Redwood City history will appear, as well as some new features.  Readers will again hear from veteran local journalists Bill Shilstone and Scott Dailey, among other contributing writers.

The print version of the magazine will appear on racks and at other locations around Redwood City in January. The goal is to continue to ensure Climate chronicles Redwood City’s resurgence with dynamic, credible, and balanced content for our growing audience.

Alberti added that during Climate’s hiatus he has heard many comments from people who missed reading it and thought the magazine filled an important need to keep the community informed.

For local merchants and other advertisers, the print and online combination offers an excellent and cost effective way to reach local audiences wherever they are, and Climate is offering special introductory discounts. Media kits are available at advertise@climaterwc.com
