Successful Chase the Chill event preps for next year

Following a successful 2nd annual Chase the Chill event that saw more than 600 scarves, hats and gloves collected over several weeks and hung at 14 locations around Redwood City for people in need to find and keep, organizers are already mobilizing for next year’s event.

Items hung around the city read in both English and Spanish, “If you need me take me, If you like me take me.”

Now, organizers want to offer local residents the opportunity to participate by beginning to knit, crochet, weave, felt or cut and decorate fleece for next year’s Chase the Chill event.

Collections will take place in October 2018 and items will be hung in November 2018.

“Thank you to the Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, ARTS RWC, and Jodi Paley for supporting this project,” according to the city.
