Man allegedly steals $60K worth of fine wines from Millbrae storage unit

A 57-year-old man was arrested Friday on suspicion of stealing about $60,000 worth of exquisite wine bottles from a Millbrae self-storage unit, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Scott Wellington Davis was arrested at the site of his own storage unit in connection with multiple burglaries occurring between August and October this year at the Millbrae Station self-storage at 210 Adrian Road, the sheriff’s office said.

Davis allegedly used Craigslist and false statements to arrange cash sales for the stolen wines with two unsuspecting buyers.

During his arrest, Sheriff’s Office detectives seized multiple amounts of wine bottles, some of which did not belong to the victim, indicating there are other victims.
