A virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at noon Tuesday for the newly installed synthetic turf field at Belmont Sports Complex.
The event is virtual only and the field is not yet open to the public, city officials said.’
The project, which broke ground earlier this year with help from a $6 million County loan to the city, includes new turf, ADA and bike path improvements at the popular complex at 550 Island Park Way.
In the planning for over the decade, the project will increase playable hours and decrease both water and maintenance costs, city officials said.
