San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the death of a 55-year-old man whose body was found inside a commercial building in North Fair Oaks last week.
At 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, the man, whose identity was being withheld pending the investigation, was discovered deceased in a building that houses chemicals related to metal manufacturing in the 800 Block of Hurlingame Avenue, deputies said.
Believing the chemicals in the building could be hazardous, the Redwood City Fire Hazardous Material Team was called to the scene and it determined the chemicals were not a threat to the public.
“While detectives did not see any obvious signs of foul play, the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information to provide is encouraged to contact Detective Currie at gcurrie@smcgov.org,” deputies said.
