The community can watch the Hillsdale Shopping Center’s tree lighting ceremony this evening from the comfort of their home by visiting Hillsdale.com.
Santa Claus is hosting the the shopping center’s tree lighting ceremony virtually this year — taking place today, Nov. 20, at 5:55 p.m.
Visitors can also experience the holiday tree and fountain light show in-person on the North Block Plaza all season long, with multiple show times daily.
The COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t necessarily mean canceling visits with Santa. Available by online appointment, the shopping center is offering virtual visits beginning today through Thursday, Dec. 24. Santa visits are available Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Also, Gingerbread Housing Decorating Workshops begin Saturday, Nov. 28 and run through Wednesday, Dec. 23. Visitors can pick their day and time to reserve a table for an hour and a half of decorating fun. Hillsdale provides fresh, preservative-free gingerbread house, icing, candy, accessories and signage for the workshops, which occur Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
For those in the giving spirit, the Samaritan House will be collecting non-perishable food items and new children/teen coats at both concierge locations at Hillsdale Shopping Center, starting Friday, Nov. 27. No toys and gifts of any sort will be collected this year.
Hillsdale Shopping Center holiday hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Special holiday hours include the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas when the store will have extended shopping hours.
