SB Hillsdale Blvd. on-ramps to close for express lane construction

in Community/Infrastructure

Both southbound U.S. Highway on-ramps at Hillsdale Boulevard will close from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting Thursday, Jan. 14, and for five working days thereafter due to construction work on the 101 Express Lanes Project, according to the City of San Mateo.

The on-ramps closing include eastbound East Hillsdale Boulevard to southbound U.S. Hwy 101, and westbound East Hillsdale Boulevard to southbound U.S. Hwy.

Pile driving will be involved as crews install the foundations of a retaining wall on southbound U.S. 101, south of the on-ramp from East Hillsdale Blvd, the city said.

Caltrans is constructing express lanes on 101 from the San Mateo County/Santa Clara County Line to I-380 in South San Francisco. Construction is expected to be completed in mid-2022, with the full lanes opening to traffic late-2022.
