Redwood City police seek public’s help in fatal hit-and-run investigation

Redwood City police are searching for the suspect and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision on Woodside Road on Saturday that killed an elderly woman.

At about 5:52 p.m., police responded to a report of a person down in the roadway at 1709 Woodside Road, near Sequoia Avenue. Officers located the victim “lying on her side in the number two lane of eastbound Woodside Road,” police said. The unconscious woman, whose identity was available in the police statement, was transported to Stanford Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

“There were no witnesses located at the scene, and the suspect and vehicle are unknown and outstanding at this time,” police said.
