San Mateo County man arrested on multiple sexual assaults on minors

A San Mateo County man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexually assaulting multiple underaged girls as part of an investigation that began in 2012, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Kaylan Freeman, 30, who lives in an unincorporated coastside area of the County, was booked on suspicion of kidnapping with intent to rape, forcible lewd acts with a child under 14, lewd acts with a child under 14, oral copulation with a child under 14 and stalking, the sheriff’s office said.

“In January of 2021, the Sheriff’s Office detectives identified a suspect who is suspected of committing several serious violent sexual assaults against underage girls,” Det. Judson Piper said. “These crimes date back to 2012, and all occurred throughout San Mateo County.”

Freeman was arrested at his home Thursday and detectives believe there are more victims who have yet to come forward.
