2 arrested, 1 cited in armed robbery at Golden Glaze Bakery

Two suspects were arrested and another was cited in connection with an armed robbery at the Golden Glaze Bakery in North Fair Oaks on Monday, Feb. 15.

San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies responded to the business at about 5 p.m. and learned an employee was approached by a male suspect who brandished a red handgun and demanded money, the sheriff’s office said. After taking $480 in cash, the robber fled in a getaway vehicle eastbound on Stanford Ave.

After searching the area, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a minivan matching the description of the getaway vehicle. A passenger, 19-year-old Steve Talauati of Redwood City, was positively identified as the robber, deputies said. A 17-year-old Redwood City boy, also a passenger, was found in possession of a red handgun. The driver, 21-year-old transient Isiah Vi, was found in possession of a controlled substance and was cited while the passengers were arrested, deputies said.
