Redwood City police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at the Subway shop at 758 Woodside Road Monday night.

The suspect entered the store through a back door just before 8 p.m., ordered a sandwich and brandished a black handgun at an employee, demanding all the money from the cash register, police said. The suspect fled with about $200-$400 out the back door towards Gordon Street.

“The handgun was described as a black colored pistol,” police said. “The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic adult male in his early 20s, approximately 5’5” with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black face covering, black hat with a logo on the front, black shorts, and black shoes with white soles.”
