VIDSIG, Inc., the global video chat platform that offers users the ability to chat live with a wide variety of talented professionals, including celebrity athletes, actors, writers, musicians and consultants, has launched a new service benefiting college-bound teens.

For $25, the service enables parents and high school students to schedule a 10-minute, one-to-one live video chat with a student or recent alum of a college of their choice. Within the first 48 hour of the new service’s launch, VIDSIG already features over 60 different colleges and universities across the U.S., from local community colleges to top schools like MIT, NYU, Stanford and USC, as well as more than a dozen private schools.

“The student experts are vetted by VIDSIG and take an 80 percent share of the fee,” according to VIDSIG, Inc.

The 10-minute chats help provide college-bound students with a view of campus life, coursework, insider tips on majors and other information you’d usually receive on a college campus tour, said Jonathan Yarnold, CEO at VIDSIG.

Students can use the service to narrow down college choices while student experts receive resume-building influence on the platform, networking opportunities and opportunity for income.

“It’s a natural extension of what we do at VIDSIG, connecting people globally via live chat with true talent – in this case, the first-hand knowledge and insight only another student can provide,” Yarnold said.

The company plans to expand education offerings to include academic and research talent.
