San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office to conduct DUI checkpoint in Millbrae for Cinco de Mayo

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint on a stretch of El Camino Real in Millbrae on Wednesday, which is Cinco de Mayo.

The checkpoint will occur from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the 0 through 100 blocks of El Camino Real (just north of Millbrae Avenue), the sheriff’s office said.

“Checkpoints like this one are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests,” the sheriff’s office said.

In addition, deputies will be patrolling countywide to halt drivers suspected of DUI.
