San Carlos invites residents and business owners to enter Halloween decorating contest

We recently reported about Redwood City’s Halloween home decoration challenge. Turns out San Carlos has a similar contest going on.

Who can “Out-BOO” their neighbors? That’s the challenge the City of San Carlos has posed to its residents and business owners for the city’s Halloween Decorating Contest, which this year includes the categories of Scariest, Best Decorated Door and Best Overall.

“We want to see you get spectacularly spooky with your décor this year,” organizers said.

Entry applications for exterior home or business decorations must be received by Monday, Oct. 18. By signing up, participants agree to have their addresses be part of an interactive map so that residents can visit decorated properties around San Carlos.

Participants will receive decorative yard signs sponsored by Bob Bredel to signal their participation in the contest. Winners of each category will be announced Friday, Oct. 22, on the city’s website and on the city’s Parks and Recreation Facebook page. They will receive a prize and trophy delivered to their home or business.
