101 Express Lanes from Santa Clara County line to Redwood City to open Feb. 11

Express Lanes on U.S. Highway 101 from the Santa Clara County line to Whipple Avenue in Redwood City will officially open on Friday, Feb. 11.

The lanes will operate from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays. Solo drivers must have a standard FasTrak or FasTrak Flex toll tag to pay tolls to use the lane. Carpools, vanpools and motorcycles must have a FasTrak Flex toll tag to travel toll free or at a discount. Carpools is defined as having three or more people.

Eligible clean air vehicles can pay half-price tolls but must have a FasTrak CAV tag (apply for one at getfastrak.com).

Phase 2 of the Highway 101 Express Lane project, set to open later this year, will stretch from Whipple Avenue north to Highway 380.
