Port of Redwood City to cut ribbon on public fishing pier

in Community

The Port of Redwood City is inviting the community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a newly completed public fishing pier. The event will take place at 11 a.m. at 460 Seaport Ct.

The new fishing pier includes sleek wire cables for optimal waterfront viewing, new interpretational signage of local fish species, ADA improvements and peek-a-boo decking to see the water floating beneath your toes, according to the Port.

“The fishing pier is open to the public and offers free, unrestricted public access, and unlike most areas in California, fishing from the public pier does not require individuals to possess a fishing license,” the Port states.
