Fuel reduction work in Edgewood Park will close segments of a couple of trails from Sunday, May 15, through Friday, May 27, and possibly beyond, according to San Mateo County Parks.

“Sylvan Trail will be closed between markers 3 and 16, and Baywood Trail will be closed between markers 7 and 8,” Park officials said.

Wildfire hazard risk reduction efforts will be conducted within a 19-acre area of the park through July, including thinning of understory to create shaded fuel breaks within 100 feet of the eastern and southeastern boundary, as well as removal of sudden oak death affected trees and other dead trees within 200 feet of select trails and neighboring structures, Park officials said.
