Want to be part of the San Carlos Hometown Days Parade Sat., May 20? This is your special chance.
The Community Foundation of San Carlos is welcoming one and all to join its volunteers that day in the Hometown Days Parade in San Carlos, led by longtime resident Tom Davids’ classic VW van and the Sarmiento French Bulldogs, according to the nonprofit.
Adding to the fun will be parade judges who will select winners in several categories, per organizers. The judging stand will be located in front of Bianchini’s Market on Laurel St., however, the parade can be viewed along San Carlos Ave., Laurel St. and Arroyo Ave.
The May 20 parade is a highlight of the San Carlos Hometown Days weekend May 20-21 and includes antique vehicles, floats, fire and sheriff vehicles, marching bands, dance troupes, local organizations and more, according to event organizers.
A City of San Carlos event since 2022, the Hometown Days weekend’s other family friendly festivities include games, food, drinks, live music and art. Weekend events run 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in downtown San Carlos and Burton Park. An opening concert will occur Fri., May 19 at 5:30 p.m.
As for the Community Foundation of San Carlos, the nonprofit creates sustained and measurable impact for the San Carlos community via strategic philanthropy, per its website.
