Voter Center Volunteers are being sought to serve at 45 voter centers throughout San Mateo County from Oct. 31 through election day on Nov. 3.
“Vote centers are COVID-19 prepared and all volunteers will be provided personal protective equipment, including gloves, hand sanitizer, face shields and masks,” according to the County.
Voter Center workers will be needed from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Oct. 31 through Nov. 2 and on election day from 6:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. (or until needed). They’ll receive a stipend of $195 to work on election day, $150 per day from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, and also an additional $85 to attend one training class (as long as they serve for one day at the vote center.)
Vote Center Volunteers be tasked with greeting voters, distributing election materials and voter check-in forms, issuing ballots, disinfecting equipment and supplies, directing voters and conducting line management, according to the Registration & Elections Division of the Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder’s Office.
