A 33-year-old man was arrested Monday after he allegedly groped a woman as she was walking with her children in Redwood City.

Police responded to the area of the 7-Eleven at 1700 Broadway at about 12:22 p.m. on a report of the random assault, police said.

A witness said the suspect, whose identity wasn’t immediately available, put his hands on the woman’s back and then touched her buttocks over her pants before the woman fled with her children, police said.

The witness identified the suspect at the scene and he was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail for a parole violation.

Now, police are seeking to identify the female victim, as they have been unable to locate her.
