The Redwood City Police Department was awarded a one-year, $122,500 grant to enhance traffic safety on city streets.
From Oct. 1 this year through Sept. 30, 2021, California Office of Traffic Safety grant will fund increased outreach and patrols aimed at cracking down on DUI, distracted driving, speeding, failure to yield to pedestrians and bicyclists and other traffic safety issues.
“We find ourselves in very challenging times and it is vital that we explore and implement innovative and fiscally responsible ways to improve traffic safety in our community,” Redwood City Police Chief Dan Mulholland said. “This grant opportunity allows us to educate and enhance the safety of all residents and visitors to our community.”
