Ample rainfall forecast for the coming hours and days has led to evacuation warnings for areas of San Mateo County that were impacted by the CZU Lightning Complex fires this past summer.
Cal Fire said the rain forecast poses increased risk of potentially dangerous debris flow in areas in and around the CZU Lightning Complex “burn scar.”
For the safety of local residents, evacuation warnings have been issued in south coast areas such as Whitehouse Canyon Road, areas south of Gazos Creek Road, Butano Sate Park and the community of Barranca Knolls west of Cloverdale Road, the communities of Loma Mar and Dearborn Park and the community of Butano Canyon.
Meanwhile in some areas impacted by the CZU Lightning Complex in Santa Cruz County, Cal Fire has issued evacuation orders rather than warnings due to the higher potential for dangerous debris flow.
