An upcoming event hosted by Chamber San Mateo County will kick the morning off like a cup of coffee sweetened with some helpful female business insights. On Thurs., Feb. 18 from 9-10 a.m., the Chamber will present “COFFEE TALK: Road to Recovery Series, Women Owned Small Businesses” on Zoom.

Moderated by Redwood City Vice Mayor Giselle Hale, the free online chat will feature a panel of local female small-business owners who will share their experiences, discuss the road to economic recovery and offer their thoughts on how the community can better support small businesses.

Hale, who is partnering with Chamber San Mateo County to launch this first installment of the ongoing Coffee Talk series, noted on her Facebook page: “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our community, but they have been hit hard by this pandemic with some estimates showing only three out of four will survive. Women-led businesses have been hit harder and those run by women of color the hardest.”

Local panelists will include some familiar faces: Jihann Bayyari, co-founder of Cyclismo Café; Allie Board, owner & event manager of JoeyRae Boutique; Kristiann Dienstbier-Garrett, owner of Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company; and Aili Ice, proprietor and lead designer at Aili Ice Designs.
