The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the robbery of a woman who was walking alone one block from Capuchino High School on Friday night.
At about 6:20 p.m., the woman was reportedly crossing the intersection at Magnolia Ave and Paramount Dr. when she was accosted by the burglar. The unknown man emerged from the front passenger side of a car within the intersection and wrestled away the woman’s purse, knocking her down in the process, deputies said. The man fled in the car, which recklessly drove off with the passenger door still open. The open car door “struck the woman as she was trying to get up from the middle of the street,” deputies said.
The woman was not injured. The sheriff’s office said it is actively investigating the incident.
