Starting Monday, July 12, parking enforcement will resume in all commercial zones in San Mateo, and areas previously designated as Safe Streets will re-open to normal traffic, the city said.
“As we re-open our City again, the time has come for us to remove the signage, cones, and barricades and return your neighborhood streets to shared roadways for all,” the city said in a statement.
While most parking enforcement resumed downtown in July last year, come July 12 all enforcement areas citywide will resume on commercial streets, including all parking meters and lots in the areas of 25th, 37th, 42nd avenues and along portions of both El Camino Real and Delaware Street that are commercial in nature.
“Leading up to the return to enforcement on July 12, 2021, noticing will be done in these areas to advise our community of the pending resumption of enforcement,” the city said. “After noticing, warnings will be issued by LAZ Parking (our contracted parking enforcement company) between Tuesday, July 6 through Saturday, July 10, 2021. Warnings look similar to citations, so if you receive one during this time period, it is simply a warning.”
Parking remains free after 6 p.m. daily, on Sundays, and holidays.
