Those old newspapers, blankets and towels you’ve been collecting around the house could help improve a local furball’s home with some much-needed material, per the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA.
“These materials are useful for lining the bottom of animal cages for our dogs, cats, bunnies and more and we’re running low,” said the organization in a call to the community on Facebook.
Community members able to donate newspapers, blankets (no comforters or quilts) and towels can bring them to the organization’s Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Rd. in Burlingame or its Coyote Point Shelter at 12 Airport Blvd. in San Mateo. Shelter hours are Monday through Friday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.
