The Eastern Promenade Rejuvenation Project at Coyote Point Recreation Area is on target to be completed in spring 2022, according to San Mateo County Parks.
The new promenade, designed with climate change adaptations, includes a new sandy beach shaped as a crenulate bay, a restroom building relocated near the existing restroom, and a re-configured new parking area that will be located just up the hill, the County said. The area remains closed during construction, which began in May, officials said.
“Recent activities include installation of underground utilities and the pouring and forming of the concrete seat walls, a feature that is continued from the Western promenade,” the County said. “Installation of a new restroom will be followed by surface preparation for the construction of the parking lots.”
