Redwood City students request clothing donations for families in Safe RV Parking program

in Community

The Redwood City Youth & Teen Advisory Boards are requesting donations of new or gently used blankets, sweaters or jackets, or new socks, to donate to families in the city’s RV Safe Parking Program.

Donations for program participants can be brought to Red Morton Community Center, 1120 Roosevelt Ave., from now through Dec. 18. For more information, contact Erik at ebetancourt@redwoodcity.org, or (650) 780-7316.

Redwood City’s Safe RV Parking Program, operated by LifeMoves, “includes both the City’s Safe Parking Site at 1402 Maple Street (for 40 RV Households) and on Street Permitted Parking for approved participants,” according to the city. The program, implemented in response to an explosion of RV residency on city streets in recents due in part to the affordable housing crisis, aims to provide a safe place for RV dwellers to be connected with resources needed to eventually get them into stable housing.
