Redwood City will welcome its first cannabis dispensary at a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, February 11.
Earlier this week Embarc Redwood City launched its soft opening and celebrated a Ribbon Cutting ceremony hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. The shop is located at 1870 Broadway and marks the company’s seventh location statewide.
The opening comes after a more than year-long process by Redwood City officials to vet and ultimately select local operators based off public input. As part of the process, a Community Advisory Board made up of local community members and leaders aimed at guiding a thoughtful integration of cannabis activities in the city was developed.
“Core to our business model is meaningful community integration, which is why we are thrilled to be co-owned by multi-generational local residents who will ensure our operations serve as a collaborative partner to the City, this community, and our non-profit partners,” says Lauren Carpenter, Embarc’s Chief Executive Officer. “Embarc will be the first legal cannabis business to open our doors in this community – a testament to our team’s ability to deliver on our promises and our commitment to Redwood City.”
Per the guidance of the Board, Embarc Redwood City will donate 1% of all sales back into the community.
