San Mateo is hosting a Citywide Yard Sale for three straight days from Friday, July 21 through Sunday, July 23.
Hundreds of residents will hold yard sales at their homes, rain or shine, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on each day. Sellers may choose to participate on any of the sale days, and online and printed address lists will show which day or days each participating seller is open, according to the city. View this live map of all participating sellers. It will stay up-to-date until a week before the event.
“Shoppers will see advertisements in the San Mateo Daily Journal and the City’s social media platforms,” city officials said.
To register to sell, visit theĀ online registration tool. Registration is free. Sellers are encouraged to register before July 16 to guarantee their yard sale will make it onto the printed maps. For those who don’t have internet, you can stop by City Hall and ask for assistance. Free yard sale signs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those needing additional help can contact yardsale@cityofsanmateo.org.
The Citywide Yard Sale encourages residents to reuse and recycle items no longer needed, and supports the City’s Zero Waste goals, according to the city.
