Rain delayed last weekend’s 2018 opening of the Redwood City Kiwanis Farmers Market.
The grand opening is now scheduled for this Saturday, April 14.
The market opens from 8 a.m. to noon at 500 Arguello St. in Redwood City.
The farmers market, which runs from April through November, is the oldest and largest on the Peninsula. In 1979, four community advocates led by Dr. John S. Hensill set out to support local independent farmers and to supply the community with fresh seasonal produce. Today, the market also features flowers, eggs, nuts, cheese, honey, pastries, arts and crafts and more.
