The deadline to register for the 2020 Presidential General Election is Oct. 19, which means voter registration forms sent by mail must be postmarked on or before Oct. 19, the elections office said.
To register online, go to registertovote.ca.gov, or pick up registration forms at public libraries, city and town halls, post offices, the DMV, any of the County’s Vote Centers and the Registration & Elections Division.
Miss the Oct. 19 deadline? You can still vote. You can head to any county Vote Center to receive and cast a conditional ballot.
“When a conditional ballot is cast, the Registration & Elections Division processes the registration, determines the individual’s eligibility to register, and validates the individual’s information,” according to the elections office. “If the voter was indeed eligible to vote in San Mateo County, the registration becomes permanent, and the conditional ballot will be counted.”
When visiting a Vote Center, voters must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing requirements.
