Great news for Peninsula movie lovers: Cinemark‘s Redwood Downtown 20 and XD in Redwood City will reopen just in time for the weekend on Fri., Feb. 26. “With careful planning and greatly enhanced safety measures, we are excited to welcome you back,” theatre representatives announced on its website.

Cinemark’s announcement comes on the heels of the news that San Mateo County has moved into the less restrictive red tier.

Moviegoers can choose from a selection of movies including Tom & Jerry: The Movie, The Croods: A New Age, The Little Things, The Marksman, Wonder Woman 1984, Judas and the Black Messiah, Land, Monster Hunter and more. Aside from purchasing tickets, moviegoers can also book their own Private Watch Party for up to 20 guests. Guests are asked to purchase tickets online.

According to a statement from Cinemark CEO Mark Zoradi on the company’s website, “as we begin thoughtfully reopening theatres, the health and well-being of our guests, employees and communities is a top priority.”

As part of this effort, the theatre has implemented enhanced cleanliness, sanitizing and safety measures “at every step of your movie-going experience.” These efforts include sanitizing auditoriums and seats prior to each show time, mandatory mask-wearing and other procedures adhering to the National Association of Theatre Owners’ CinemaSafe program, which can be seen here.
