A suspect is being sought following a stabbing in the parking lot of a San Carlos Lucky’s supermarket on Tuesday.

San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies responded to the store in the 1100 block of Old County Road on a report of a possible stabbing just before 5:30 p.m. They located a 39-year-old man “lying in the parking lot and severely bleeding from a laceration to his right arm,” deputies said.

“Deputies performed trauma aid on the victim, who was in and out of consciousness,” the sheriff’s office said.

The victim was transported to a hospital and is currently in stable condition.

A search of the area did not turn up any suspects or witnesses.

“The investigation is ongoing to locate surveillance video in the area,” the sheriff’s office said.
