San Carlos announces reopening of improved Chilton Park

in Community/Infrastructure

Improvements at Chilton Park in San Carlos have been completed and the city announced the park’s reopening Friday.

The community is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the park project Thursday, Dec. 9, at 4 p.m., according to the city. The park is located at 48 Bayview Drive.

Improvements installed at the park include “enhanced pathways; a stair entrance from Bayview Drive; a gathering area near the rock outcrop; a small tot play area; a drinking fountain; new plantings and trees; an interpretive sign; and drainage improvements,” according to the city.

The $400,000 project followed a community engagement process that began in July 2018. Prop. 68 park improvement funds were used to fund the project.
