A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Redwood City that injured two people last summer.

On Wednesday, Dec. 29, Antonio Sayegrios was arrested in San Mateo on a $10 million warrant for attempted murder, according to the Redwood City Police Department. The case involves a non-fatal, gang-related shooting that occurred in the 900 block of King Street in July 2021, police said.

According to prosecutors, a man was walking with his girlfriend and their two-week-old baby and his brother at Red Morton Park about 7:10 p.m. on July 29 when Sayegrios allegedly pulled up in his car with a second person. Sayegrios is described by prosecutors as a validated Norteno gang member and the victims were wearing Sureno colors. After a verbal altercation, Sayegrios allegedly assaulted the first person before the second suspect opened fire, striking the first victim in the shoulder, according to prosecutors. The second victim attempted to run away, and Sayegrios and his accomplice got back into his car to chase after him, prosecutors say. The second victim was then shot in the thigh.

Part of the attack was captured on surveillance video, prosecutors said.

A lengthy investigation identified Sayegrios as one of the suspects, police said. He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
