The Red Morton Park tennis courts will be closed in the coming days to allow for new pickleball striping and tennis court relining, according to the city.
As part of the project, new pickleball striping will occur on tennis courts Nos. 1 and 2 on Friday, allowing the courts to be converted into four pickleball courts (tennis will still be played on these courts when pickleball nets are not in play). The city is working on a plan to manage the net set-up and take-down. The courts could reopen as soon as Saturday, weather and paint curing permitting.
In addition, the city will also resurface and reline courts Nos. 3 and 4, removing the current pickleball lines and relining for tennis only. That work will take place Monday, March 21, through Wednesday, March 23, with the courts set to reopen Wednesday, weather and paint curing permitting.
