Even a rainy Sunday couldn’t dampen Fiestas Patrias, a patriotic holiday that celebrates independence from Spain for Mexico and other Latin American countries. On September 18, Courthouse Square in Redwood City provided the site for festivities that included a traditional flag ceremony conducted by the Consul General of Mexico, Remedios Gomez Arnau, as well as music, dancing, food and crafts.
