The season opener of OpenRoad with Doug McConnell featured San Mateo County parks.

The NBC Bay Area segment was broadcast as the County is set to celebrate 100 years of park service at Memorial Park in 2024.

“In 1924, at a time of intense logging, local leaders recognized a special grove of trees along Pescadero Creek and created Memorial County Park to preserve them,” McConnell notes in the report.

San Bruno Mountain, Coyote Point and Devil’s Slide are among the parks mentioned in the video. Also covered is the new beach park, Tunitas Creek Beach, located on a gorgeous stretch of coastline south of Half Moony Bay.
