The Redwood City, Woodside and Menlo Park fire departments will prep for firefighting season both locally and throughout California during a weeklong training next week at Huddart County Park.
The annual training will take place at the park in Woodside from Monday, May 8 through Saturday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The exercise will not involve fire activity or smoke, but park users and neighbors may see fire trucks and hear equipment, including practice landings and take-offs of helicopters from several agencies, officials said. Training will occur in several park locations, including the Redwood, Meadow, Werder, and Madrone areas. The public asked to stay out of marked areas.
