5 people struck by gunfire in Redwood City shooting

A shooting in Redwood City injured five people Sunday morning, including a 16-year-old boy, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 4:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue, when an unidentified male suspect approached a group of people drinking on the sidewalk and opened fire with a 9mm handgun, police said. Four men and a teenager were struck by gunfire and were all were taken to the hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries, police said.

No arrests have been made and the shooting is under investigation.
