City of San Mateo officials have announced that the Annual Citywide Yard Sale is set for Sat., July 31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a yard or driveway near you. The event is open to City of San Mateo residents only.
“Host your own yard sale in front of your residence or partner with your neighbors on the block,” stated City officials about the event. “Together we can reuse and recycle items we no longer need.”
To sign up to participate in the Citywide Yard Sale, click here. The deadline to register is Fri., July 30 at Noon.
According to City officials, only City of San Mateo resident yard sales will be included on the interactive online map. The first 200 participants to sign up will receive a free bright yellow Citywide Yard Sale sign; those with registration numbers falling between 1 through 200 can visit San Mateo City Hall, 330 W. 20 Ave., to pick up a sign.
The City will be advertising the event in local newspapers and on social media, per City officials; they suggest residents promote their own sales on free sites like Craigslist, NextDoor.com, YardSale.com and that they also post flyers on community bulletin boards.
