A 53-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run after she allegedly struck a person with her vehicle in the parking lot of the Best Buy store in San Carlos on Tuesday before leaving the scene, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Cynthia Heagney is accused of backing her vehicle into the victim as he was unloading items from the trunk of his vehicle in the parking lot of the store at 1127 Industrial Road at about 2:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office said. The victim’s leg was pinned between his vehicle and the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect then drove out of the parking lot, deputies said.

Deputies caught up with Heagney at her home. She was arrested and booked into jail after being positively identified as the suspect by an independent witness, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim reportedly suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Stanford Hospital for treatment.

No further information was immediately known about this case.
