Community members are encouraged to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, at two Redwood City library locations this week.
The festival, celebrating India’s biggest and most important holiday, will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Redwood Shores Branch Library, and at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Downtown Library.
“We welcome children of all ages and their families to enjoy a Diwali-themed storytime, learn about holiday traditions, and twirl and clap in a family friendly dance workshop led by Nirmal Gosavi, Artistic Director of Nupur Folk Dance Academy,” according to city officials. “No dance experience needed.”
Attendance will be capped when we room capacity is met. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Redwood City Library.
